Contacting us with a bespoke concept, our client was looking for a patinated copper cooker hood for her Swiss kitchen, along with a small matching copper worktop.

Through our bespoke service we work with our clients to help them achieve their desired look and feel, individually blending specific characteristics and requirements to create beautiful pieces with a tailored finish.

Working in close communication with our client at each stage of the design process, we prepared a set of 3D renders to incorporate the all-important dimensional information. Our 3D visualisations are an excellent communication tool and help to bridge the gap between a written design brief/product description and the real thing. And as with many of our projects, we provided samples of the patinated copper and brass finishes that the client was looking to achieve.

We design and construct our bespoke cooker hoods around the appliances chosen by our clients, and in some cases, we may be able to assist with the sourcing of extractor units, depending on the requirements. For this particular cooker hood project, we needed to incorporate a specialist extractor fan (and ventilation duct) that was required by Swiss law to be activated as soon as a gas supply was switched on. Our workshop team therefore had to liaise with our client and her team to make sure the product was set up correctly for mounting and installing on arrival in Switzerland. Formed with a substrate framework to provide the shape and structure (all built around the extractor fan unit) the cooker hood was then wrapped in hand-patinated copper sheet, with flat brass trims.

Small Bespoke Copper Kitchen Worktop

The second element to this project was to create a matching copper worktop. Not only was this to match the patinated copper cooker hood we had created, but it was also required to work seamlessly with the profile edge of our client’s existing marble worktop.

Not quite a full bull-nose edge (rounded), we produced a half bull-nose profile (curved from the top of the surface to a flat bottom) for this bijoux worktop, creating a smooth, continuous edge with our client’s marble worktop.

The overall result was stunning: stylish, contemporary and highly useful additions to our client’s kitchen.
