Sometimes “out with the old and in with the new” is quite simply not the right way to go! Andrew Nebbett Designs grew from a hearty love and appreciation of antique pieces of furniture and works of art and the preservation of history and heritage is something we are rather passionate about.

Well… it was a particular 1940s Frigidaire Refrigerator which formed the basis of the brief for one of our very latest commissions! Bronze (or phosphor bronze as variants are known) is a somewhat underrated cousin of the so very fashionable metal; brass. It offers similar working properties to that of its copper alloy family members, but significantly, it can provide some of the most beautiful pinky colours and tones when compared to brass itself.

It was with open arms therefore that we accepted a request from the highly respected firm of interior designers, Finchatton, based in London, to produce a bespoke table to be used within one such wine room of significant proportions.

A private client approached us having been inspired by an image of a copper worktop online and upon finding one of our bespoke kitchen copper island worktops created for a previous project, they knew it was the piece they had been searching for!

There is no doubt about it, Crittall-Style is ‘à la mode’ and it’s easy to see why – clean, minimal, no-fuss, low-profile, not to mention the abundance of light that this style provides.

The Satin Brass Oval Worktop was to fit flawlessly against a black quartz worktop to create a stunning breakfast bar island embellished with satin brass panels (also produced by our team) and cabinet handles to perfect the overall design.
