Description
These solid brass rolling-hook-on ladder carriages are designed for rolling ladder solutions, but come with a flexible twist. Featuring an oversized wheel, which also acts as a hook mechanism, they provide the ability to move the ladder from one rail to another. This is an ideal solution where the ladder is needed in more than one location, but where it may not be possible to accommodate a rail solution that links all sections together (using corner rail sections for example). Exclusive to Andrew Nebbett Designs, the rolling-hook-on carriages are fully designed and made in-house by our team in Devon. They are created to work with our Andrew Nebbett Designs’ Rolling-Hook-on Ladder Rails and Andrew Nebbett Designs Braked Rolling Castor Feet (also suitable for ladders without rolling feet).
Options
There are two installation options. Simply choose from a radius back plate, ready to install on a 32mm diameter tubular ladder frame, or a flat back plate, suited to square/flat ladder frames. Our fixings are either counter-sunk screw holes (visible when you look front-on at the carriages) or blind-tapped (invisible from the front view of the carriages). Important to Note:
*Please be aware that we strongly suggest this system is paired with our braked rolling castor feet, and the brake should be engaged prior to mounting the ladder, for the purposes of safety.
*These rolling-hook-on ladder carriages WILL NOT work with our standard rolling or hook-on ladder rails. They will only work with our Rolling-Hook-on Ladder Rails.
These carriages are made to order and are supplied in polished brass, handmade in our workshops in England.
*Screws are not provided as it is necessary for the installer to choose the appropriate fixtures for the material the hardware is being attached to.
*Please note these rolling-hook-on ladder carriages are designed to manoeuvre a ladder only and are not designed to be ‘ridden’ on by a person whilst moving along a bookcase (for example).
Bespoke Service
Through our Bespoke service we can supply this item in alternative finishes including nickel plated brass (shiny silver), antiqued brass and bronze coloured to name a few. It is also possible to provide this system with a retractable mechanism (allowing the ladder to be stored vertically, parallel to the cabinetry, maximising floor space.
