Our Bespoke Furniture Design Process

When you come to us with an idea, we relish the opportunity to turn it into something exceptional. Your brief can be as detailed as specifying every last screw or simply the spark of a new concept. If you already have a clear vision, we can realise it exactly as imagined. If you are still developing your ideas, we will work with you to shape, refine and bring them to life.

We work with architects, interior designers, contractors and private clients who are seeking bespoke furniture design that elevates a space through thoughtful design and exceptional materials.

With decades of experience, we ensure that even the most unique projects unfold smoothly and without stress. The result is a beautifully crafted piece that enhances your space and leaves a lasting sense of wow.

Ideas, Research & Planning

Our First Conversation

Every project begins with an initial conversation by phone, Zoom or in person. This is your opportunity to share your ideas, ask questions and tell us what matters most. You can bring sketches, plans, photographs or simply your vision. We listen closely so we understand your space, your style and what you want to achieve.

Exploring your requirements

Together, we look at the practical and aesthetic details that will shape your piece. You can discuss preferred materials, finishes and any functional or technical considerations. Whether you know exactly what you want or are still exploring possibilities, this stage helps you feel confident about the direction of your bespoke furniture design.

Optional site visit

Sometimes a project will require a site visit. This is usually because precise measurements need to be taken such as if we are fitting a shower door frame, and so that we can understand the environment first-hand. You can have complete peace of mind that the design will fit perfectly and work seamlessly in your space.

Step 2 of 4

Developing your Bespoke Furniture Designs

Proposal

With a clear brief in place, we begin developing a clear design proposal tailored to your project. We present the best technical solutions along with clear and transparent costs for your review and feedback.

Visualisation

To give you complete confidence in your final selection, we create detailed 3D renders and send physical material samples. This allows you to truly visualize how each piece will look and feel within your space and see the craftsmanship and finishes up close.

Approval

Once the design is agreed, your final sign-off on the pre-production drawings ensures the piece will be made exactly as intended.

Step 3 of 4

Building your piece

Making

Your piece will be brought to life, by hand, in our Devon workshops. Every element is made to order, using traditional craftsmanship and time-honoured techniques to ensure the highest quality.

Sharing progress

Throughout the process we share photographic updates so you can follow the creation process. We also welcome clients to visit our workshop for a behind-the-scenes tour. It’s a great opportunity to see our team at work and experience their artistry first-hand, giving you a unique connection to your piece.

Celebrating Craftsmanship

Our craftsmen bring decades of combined experience and a deep passion for their craft. Each takes immense pride in the precision, skill, and attention to detail that define every piece we make.

Step 4 of 4

Delivery & Installation

Shipping

Once your piece has passed our final quality checks, we arrange delivery with the same care and precision that goes into making it. Whether you’re based in the UK or overseas, we work with trusted couriers and specialist carriers experienced in transporting antiques, artwork and furniture.

For larger or more delicate pieces, we can coordinate a full white-glove delivery service to ensure your item arrives safely, unpacked, and placed exactly where you want it.

You’re also welcome to collect your piece in person from our Devon workshop on an Ex Works (EXW) basis. For full details about our delivery options and international services, please visit our Shipping, Delivery & Installation page or contact us directly.

Installation

For projects requiring installation, our team manages the process for you or liaises directly with your contractors to ensure flawless and accurate integration with your wider design scheme.

Client Support

From the first spark of initial concept to the final moment of installation, we are your dedicated partners. Our support ensures you experience absolute confidence and delight in every stage. The success of your project is our focus. We are ready to begin the conversation about your next high-end commission!
