Andrew Nebbett Designs operates production from a small, but perfectly-formed (even if we do say so ourselves) bespoke workshop, tucked away in the rolling hills of the Devon countryside. The team turning the cogs, brings a staggering 150 years of experience to our small corner of England.

Andrew – of Andrew Nebbett Designs has been part of the design world for over 30 years, having begun his love-affair with beautiful pieces of design through the world of antiques, to which he was introduced by his grandfather. Andrew’s grandfather was The Head of Interior Design and the Antiques Department at Harrods for over 30 years, and his mother was also an antique dealer, which makes Andrew a third generation antique dealer.

Some 10 years ago, Andrew began to explore the possibilities of designing his own range of products and thus Andrew Nebbett Designs was born. Amongst the varied tasks Andrew undertakes, he has always maintained that his favourite part of the job is to be in the workshop, solving problems with the team.

 

Dan – welder from the age of 7, and now master metal-worker with quite literally nerves of steel! Dan, the team’s ’man Friday’ has been with AND for over 20 years, having first been introduced to Andy on an external project. It soon became clear that they shared a mutual love for perfection and so, the team expanded.

Karl – began training at the age of 16 as a cabinet maker. Over the ensuing 35 years, his extensive knowledge, combined with his love of experimentation has lead to him being affectionately known to TeamAND as ‘The Professor’. Karl’s expert knowledge of finishing, patination, colouring and ageing processes are a fundamental part of production.

Tim – very definitely our ‘champion of logistics’, managing not only stock, but also outgoing orders. Tim joined us over 10 years ago and is a key player in ensuring everything is ‘ship-shape and orderly’. Not only does Tim keep the ‘machine running’, he is a very experienced colourist, applying processes developed by Karl.

Jack – started with AND 7 years ago at the age of 15, as an apprentice and through paying great attention and really, really learning from the rest of the team, is now firmly accepted as our zinc and copper guru! Jack has become an indispensable member of AND.

And last, but not least, the team would be incomplete with out …

Christine – Andrew’s wonderful wife, originally trained as an accountant in Exeter. After spending her early career working for several large firms in the UK, it was Andrew and Christine’s dream to one day work together. So, they took the plunge and very happily, 25 years later they’re still sat at the same desks, side by side, in the driving seats of Andrew Nebbett Designs.
