Dolly Lloyd Boutique | Andrew Nebbett Designs

Designed and beautifully handmade by our craftsmen in England

In early 2015, we had the pleasure of being contacted by the very talented fashion designer, Teo LLoyd, wife of former celebrity tennis player and ‘master of leisure’, David Lloyd.

As Teo explained (with a twinkle in her eye) during her visit to our London shop, it had been a journey which began with much frustration!

For some time, despite many internet searches, Teo simply couldn’t find a style of luxury retail clothes rail which ‘ticked all the boxes’ for such an important project – the opening of Teo’s flagship boutique ‘Dolly Lloyd’ in Chelsea, London. It was during one of Teo’s moments of frustration, trawling the internet, when David, Teo’s husband asked “What’s the problem Dolly?” Teo explained her conundrum, at which point (so we heard) David simply said ‘Give me the iPad!’ and in a matter of minutes, David presented Teo with the solution… Andrew Nebbett Designs on the screen! What can we say… David, you truly do have many talents! And, as the saying goes – ‘the rest is history’!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Teo and after great care and consideration to the layout of the boutique, which is a beautifully intimate and stylish space, located in Chelsea, one of London’s most fashionable boroughs, Teo commissioned eleven rails; nine rails of our rail called The Brighton, one unit of The London and one of The Durham. To remain on-brand, Teo opted for a bespoke nickel-plated-brass finish, which offers a beautifully warm, sumptuously-shiny, silver mirror finish which is extremely hard-wearing. In addition, Teo chose another optional-extra, that of low-level glass shelves for a number of The Brighton clothes rails, and to The London free-standing clothes rail to enable the display of shoes. This allowed her to showcase a complete ensemble, allowing shoes to be teamed with the clothes on the above rails. (Safety, being of the utmost importance, we always use 10mm thick toughened glass for all our glass shelves.)  The Durham was also chosen with the display of shoes in mind, but this piece will also be used as a visual merchandising table for accessories, handbags etc, again constructed with toughened glass round shelves.

Dolly Lloyd, independent luxury womenswear boutique in the heart of Chelsea, launched in November 2015 and the response was tremendous. We were delighted to have been able to help in the realisation of Teo’s vision.

If you like the look of the clothes rails chosen by Teo, we offer similar versions in our Ready-to-go range. The Brighton, The London and The Durham can all be purchased online in pre-defined dimensions, but if you have a project which needs something more specific, please call us to discuss, as we would be delighted to help you realise a bespoke solution.

We’d Love to Hear from You!
