Our client contacted us looking for a bespoke ladder solution for her bookcase. With an existing, and rather wobbly ladder and rail system that needed replacing, she was keen to discuss her requirements further, explaining the new system would need to accommodate her 2.7m high storage.
We were contacted via Instagram by interior design company, Covet Noir, who had a very specific idea for a bespoke rolling library ladder.
Taking the conventional out of an everyday object, we were super excited by this project brief – to turn the boring into the bold, the beautiful and the bespoke, with the creation of an exterior door for existing clients who were keen to incorporate more Andrew Nebbett Designs products into their new home.
When we were approached by a high end firm of cabinet makers, a company with whom we have worked on many projects over the years, we were rather excited by the brief. Though very specific – to create a pair of metal terrace doors that needed to have a delicate and jewel-like quality – we relished the opportunity to once again showcase our design and fabrication skills.
When we think of the word bronze, we often conjure images of beautiful art works of behemoth proportions, vast Henry Moore, or Barbara Hepworth sculptures. However, in our world of bespoke furniture and storage design, bronze and bronze colour and finish, has many other applications and meanings.
We were recently contacted by a bedroom furniture designer who was looking for a bespoke bedroom ladder solution for his client.
The ladder needed to address a number of factors, from perfectly matching the clients’ existing interior, to having a mechanism that would adjust the height of the ladder according to use – tall enough to reach the storage shelves above the client’s wardrobes, and short enough to be stowed away in a cupboard when not in use.
